About Us

Having regularly visited the Pyrenees-Orientale whilst working for a travel company and through having friends living in the area, Kate got to know and love the region.  In 2006 she bought a town house in Ille-sur-Tet and dreamt of one day living here and running a business.  When she met Adrian in 2010 and introduced him to her dream, he was immediately hooked and they started to work towards making it a reality.  They bought the Mas St Joseph in February 2013 and are now pleased to be able to share the idyll in the form of chambres d’hôtes.

Kate

Kate has a background in hospitality having worked for a travel company operating in France and also as a chef catering for special events.  She also ran her own antiques shop and interior design consultancy.  She is therefore well qualified to offer guests a stylish and gastronomic retreat!  Delicious home-cooked dinners are available on request prepared from fresh locally sourced ingredients.

Adrian

Adrian's eclectic background includes more than a decade in Africa: farming in Botswana, working with the Kalahari Bushmen in Namibia and for international aid agencies before becoming an entrepreneur. In Australia, Adrian helped build up a global head-hunting company, before commencing studies in film, making award-winning documentaries and completing a PhD in ethnographic film.  He is still involved in filmmaking and writing but is always happy to assist guests especially with local trips, outings and advice/guiding on trail running and cycle routes.
